"Settings → Voice Library → Filter by language..."
I spoke that English-language menu trail to myself in Korean for three years. Last month, I didn't have to anymore. The Korean UI hit 100% translated. Now the rest of us are waiting.
Hi, this is Sonetho. ⚡
Real talk: for three years using ElevenLabs daily, the UI was English-only. Power users like me adapted, internally translating "Voice Library" → mental Korean equivalent, "Settings" → mental Korean equivalent. Friction was real but manageable.
Onboarding non-English creators was a different story. Every time I introduced a friend or colleague to the platform, the first 30 minutes were spent walking them through what each English menu meant. Adoption blocked at exactly the wrong moment.
March 2026, that wall cracked. Korean UI shipped at 100% translated. The rollout pattern that followed suggests every supported language is getting the same treatment within 12 months.

1. Why this matters more than it sounds
UI localization isn't about translation quality (most users could machine-translate the page). It's about trust signals. When a SaaS platform ships a localized UI in your language, it tells you:
- "We have engineering capacity dedicated to this market"
- "Your support tickets won't be slower than English-language tickets"
- "Future features will land in your language alongside English, not 6 months later"
Conversely, an English-only UI in a non-English market signals "we treat you as a secondary user." That signal kills upgrades from Free to Creator.

2. Current rollout status (Lab tracking)
From watching the ElevenLabs language settings drop-down every week:
- Korean: 100% (launched March 2026). Full translation including legal pages, billing, voice category descriptions
- Japanese: currently in active translation. Most menus done, edge cases (error messages, billing) still English. Expected full release Q2 2026
- Spanish: in translation but slightly behind Japanese. LATAM Spanish prioritized, Iberian Spanish to follow as variant
- Portuguese: queued. Brazilian variant likely first, European Portuguese as fallback
- German: queued. DACH market signals heavy in their roadmap mentions
- Hindi: queued. Indian market is one of their fastest-growing, but Hindi UI is later than Spanish/Japanese in their priority order
- French / Mandarin / Arabic: planned but no firm timeline
This is based on observation, not official roadmap, so don't hold them to exact dates. The trajectory is clear though: every supported language gets a UI within 12-18 months.
3. How to switch language when yours lands
- Click your profile icon (bottom-left of sidebar)
- Settings → scroll to the bottom section
- Look for Language dropdown. If your language isn't listed, it's not live yet
- Select your language → page auto-refreshes in the new language
- All future sessions remember the preference
The dropdown updates as new languages ship. Worth checking monthly if yours isn't there yet.
4. Lab tip — what to do while you wait
If your language isn't live yet and the English UI friction is genuinely blocking your workflow:
- Chrome auto-translate: right-click anywhere on the page → "Translate to [your language]." Not perfect — sometimes mistranslates "Voice" as the verb instead of the noun. Functional for menus though
- Browser extension translators: DeepL extension or Google Translate handle in-page translation better than Chrome's built-in. Worth trying if Chrome's auto-translate misses
- Bookmark the localized docs: ElevenLabs docs are often translated ahead of the UI. Check docs.elevenlabs.io with your language selected — the menu structures match the in-app menus
Hold tight. If you're in the queued languages, your turn is within months not years.
5. Bonus — what stays English even after localization
One thing the Korean rollout taught me: not everything gets translated. These deliberately stay English even in the localized UI:
- Voice names (Anna Kim stays "Anna Kim", not transliterated)
- Model names (Eleven Multilingual v2, Turbo v2.5, v3 Alpha — all English)
- API endpoint names and technical settings (stability, similarity)
- Brand-related terms (Voice Library, Studio, Dubbing)
This is correct design. These are technical terms with no clean translation. Forcing them into translation creates more confusion than it removes.
🎁 Closing
The localized UI rollout signals ElevenLabs treating non-English markets as first-class. Big deal for creators in those markets. If your language is queued, the wait is finite. If it's already live, you're on the new normal already.

💡 How to switch the UI language: click your profile (top right) → 'Settings' → 'Application language' — Korean is already live there, and more languages keep landing.
